The Flying Shuttle

Welcome to The Flying Shuttle, our Weavery at Camphill Communities Ontario.
Four afternoons per week three companions come to the weavery and work alongside coworkers and volunteers.
Weaving gives us an opportunity to make beautiful products and gives us a sense of pride and fulfillment.
At the moment we use seven table looms and one floor loom. We also use small tapestry frames and a bicycle wheel to make our woven products. This variety gives us a chance to work according to our ability. The hand woven pieces are made into runners, scarves, toy pillows, handbags. Just to name a few.
We also use hand build ceramic components. Our friend, the pottery master fires and glazes them for us to use on purses and pendants for the necklaces, we create with the help of our coworkers. All this is fun and creative work of which we are very proud.
All of our products are available for sale. We have numerous products for sale. We also accept commissions for custom work.
